HEALTH & PHYSICAL EDUCATION

At Piara Waters Senior High School our aim is to educate and equip students with the tools to lead a healthy lifestyle and prepare them for life, focusing on inspiring excellence, developing teamwork skills, that develop positive attitudes and build confidence in all students.

Our students are challenged to practice new skills and develop their fine and gross motor skills in a range of sports to help build their self-esteem providing students with the tools to navigate life challenges. Students participate in our state-of-the-art facilities which are fitted out with the latest 21st century equipment making lessons enjoyable, meaningful, inclusive and engaging. We offer a wide range of skill building sports including soccer, AFL, cricket, netball and basketball with the ability to expand as the school continues to grow and evolve.

Health Education focuses on providing a basis for developing knowledge, understanding and skills for students to lead healthy, safe and active lives. Our programs strengthen students' sense of personal identity and autonomy, build resilience and provide students with the understanding on how to develop respectful positive relationships through creating a safe and supportive learning environment. Students are supported in an inclusive environment allowing them to thrive and reach their full potential. Through Health, students are empowered to play an important role in building healthy, safe and active communities. As we recognise the role our families play in developing healthy attitudes for now and into the future, we encourage parents to keep in contact with us over their child’s journey.

Students will have the opportunity to participate in Interschool sports and school carnivals.
