OUR VISION
Piara Waters Senior High School is Western Australia’s newest secondary public school, which opened in 2023 to serve the vibrant and multicultural community of Piara Waters. The school is situated in the beautifully landscaped suburb of Piara Waters, approximately 25 kms south of Perth.
We value positive relationships and the spirit of ‘community’ and will work with the Piara Waters community to make Piara Waters Senior High School a place where people bond around shared values and the common goal of success for our children. Piara Waters Senior High School is an inclusive place of learning, and the highly skilled staff are dedicated to ensuring that every young person in their care will exceed expectations and achieve at the highest level.
Foundation
The then Premier for Western Australia, Hon Mark McGowan, and the Minister for Education and Training, Hon Sue Ellery, announced a new secondary school for the Piara Waters region in May 2021. With_Architecture Studio won the design contract, and Perkin Builders managed construction. The planning name of the school was Piara Waters Secondary College, with construction of Stage One commencing shortly after the announcement. Carol Daniels was merit selected for the inaugural principalship and commenced in January 2022 to establish the school's direction and to plan for the opening of the school.
Stage One comprises state of the art facilities - including an Information Resource Centre, integrated Education Support, a Cafeteria, Food and Technology specialist laboratories, Wood workshops, Metal workshops, a Textiles room, Science laboratories, English, Mathematics, Humanities and Social Science learning areas. AFL/Cricket/Soccer oval and hard courts for basketball, netball and tennis. A recruitment drive throughout 2022 was undertaken to select the outstanding foundation staff. On 24th August 2022, Piara Waters Senior High School was officially named by the then Minister for Education and Training, the Hon Sue Ellery MLC. Independent Public School status was granted on 18 August 2022.
