Information Resource Centre

The Information Resource Centre (IRC) is an integral part of our teaching and learning program, serving as a vibrant hub for inquiry, research, and intellectual exploration. By fostering a culture of curiosity and providing access to a wide range of resources, the IRC supports students to become critical thinkers and lifelong learners in an ever-evolving world.

The IRC offers a comprehensive collection of traditional and contemporary research tools. Students can borrow physical books that support curriculum learning and independent reading. They also have access to Sora, an online platform with 24/7 access to ebooks and audiobooks. It’s convenient for students to check out titles at home, on the weekends or during school breaks with no worry about misplacing a book or running up late fees – these digital titles automatically return at the end of the 14-day lending period!

The centre is equipped with computer facilities that enable students to conduct research, create multimedia projects, and collaborate with peers, further developing their digital literacy and technological skills.

A designated quiet reading area provides students with a calm and inviting space to immerse themselves in literature, encouraging a love of reading and independent exploration. In addition, private study areas are available for students who require a focused environment for individual study, coursework, or assignment completion. These spaces are designed to minimise distractions and maximise productivity.

The IRC is staffed by a Library Officer who ensures the collection continues to grow and evolve in line with curriculum needs and student interests.

The IRC is open during recess and lunchtime. This provides students with opportunities for playing games, doing puzzles, mindful colouring, independent study, group collaboration, or simply a quiet space to read and reflect!
